Perseo y la cabeza de la Medusa.

Perseo debe matar a la medusa porque unas ancianas sabias le han dicho que ella con su mirada puede petrificar al monstruo marino.
Perseo en lucha con Poseidón y para salvar a su amada Andrómeda que se encuentra atada a una roca, porque ha sido condenada por aquél.
Pues su madre Casiopea, habiendo presumido ser tan bella como las Nereidas, provocó la furia de Poseidón, quien envió una inundación sobre la tierra y un monstruo marino.
Sabiendo por el oráculo de Amón que no podrían encontrar una solución hasta casar a su hija Andrómeda con el monstruo, el rey Cefeo la dejó encadenada a una roca, desnuda y con joyas.
Perseo corta la cabeza de la medusa y con ella al mirar al monstruo marino lo petrifica y salva a Andrómeda y se casa con ella.
